About Me — Meet Kim from HomeCookBlog
Hi there! I’m Kim—the mom, meal prep pro, and home cook behind HomeCookBlog. I’m so glad you’re here!
I grew up in the islands, always by my grandmother’s side in the kitchen. From peeling Irish potatoes to tasting her rich, flavorful stews, I picked up tips and traditions that still shape how I cook today.
But my real passion for cooking blossomed after becoming a mom in 2018. I started by baking recipes I found online, then got adventurous—experimenting with bold flavors, comforting meals, and time-saving tricks. When I became a second-time mom, I quickly learned how exhausting it is to cook three times a day with little ones underfoot.
One day, out of pure survival, I prepped two days’ worth of meals in advance. The next day, I caught myself wandering into the kitchen out of habit—not out of need—and I realized: this was the solution I’d been looking for.
Fast forward to today, and I prep anything I can—fresh fruit, veggies, lunches, dinners, grab-and-serve meals. It’s how I save time, reduce stress, and feed my family with love.
If you’re a busy parent, a meal prep beginner, or just someone looking for easy, tasty recipes, you’re in the right place. HomeCookBlog is full of practical tips, viral-worthy meals, and real-life food for real-life families.
Thanks for stopping by—let’s cook together!
why you should meal prep
I live by the saying that life becomes easier once you start to meal prep. Not only does meal prepping help with time management but it also helps with weight goals, saving money and sticking to healthy habits.
